Sometimes you want chic and restrained, sure. But when you’ve finally got the schedules synced to get a few mates together – it’s gotta be a party vibe.

Panama Social

This pumping Latin kitchen is perfect for some spicy hangs. Tropical flavours from Mexico, Central and South America and the Caribbean are best enjoyed in their sexy, mirror-ceiling booths that fit you and your seven best amigos – whether it’s Maradona’s Den, the House of Ricky Martin or Frida’s Blue Room.

Tiny’s Bar

The next time your work wife asks where you’re gonna get drinks, you’re gonna say Tiny’s. From the same team as Panama Social (and Mary Street Bakery), this restaurant slash bar slash liquor emporium will have you sorted for drinking, eating and good times. Head there on select Monday nights for their series of Turntable Takeovers, where local chefs take over the liquor store and the decks, cooking up small plates while they do it.

Si Paradiso

Si Paradiso is a no-brainer when it comes to drinking, dining and dancing. A constant roster of events, from disco DJs to local launches to chef collabs (Ben Shewry, hello?) has the dancing part more than covered, while a menu featuring Italian share plates (plates of mortadella with chilli oil and pistachios, fried fish wings with chilli fennel salt, dope pizza) will make sure everyone leaves with a full tum.

Double Rainbow Eating House at The Rechabite

Super fresh Northbridge spot the Rechabite has been getting tongues wagging since before its opening, and it’s definitely living up to the hype: ground level restaurant Double Rainbow is gonna be your summer fave. With a mix of Chinese, Indonesian and Thai leanings, this fast and furious kitchen is banging out lively dishes suitable for a lively night out.

el Público

Is there anything more festive than an agave flight? Grab some mates, raise your shot glass, and go on a Sunday for the Cochinita Pibil special – there’s no better way to round out the weekend. Mary gave you hands to eat tacos, don’t waste them.

Varnish on King

Part chic small bar, part low-down American whiskey joint, Varnish on King has been servicing the scoundrels and rogues of Perth for over six years. And while their back bar is something to behold, boasting Perth’s biggest range of bourbons, whiskeys and ryes – their menu isn’t anything to be sniffed at, either. Southern flavours dominate with a high-brow flair – think beef tendon crisps with Creole spice and ash mayo, or smoked mussels with charred witlof and salted radish. That’s without even mentioning the beef tartare with roasted bone marrow – I mean, you can use your bone as a sherry luge. If that’s not a party, I don’t know what is.
