Talking about the heat in summer might be one of our favourite past times, but can you blame us when every step out the door is like warm slap in the face?

We’re in for another scorcher today as well, with the Bureau of Meteorology forecasting 43°C for today, our fourth day over 40 in February alone.

We know what you’re thinking: ‘It’s summer, it gets hot, what’s the big deal’…

That argument doesn’t feel as comforting when you realise that not only is four the record for days over 40 in February for Perth, it looks like there’s still more to come, with Sunday and Monday looking at 42°C and 41°C respectively.

The four-day record first came in 1985, then again in 2016, but we could look be looking at doubling it, according to Meteorologist Jessica Lindgard.

“We could be looking at maybe rounding out halfway through this month with six 40C days,” she told the ABC. “Fingers crossed we don’t double the record, but I’m not going to rule it out either.”

We will get a little relief tomorrow with the weather dropping to 29 as the current trough breaks, before the next one moves across us over Saturday and into Sunday.
