Reading about university campuses online is totally different to experiencing them first-hand.

You have to be able to see yourself spending loads of time on that campus throughout the completion of your degree. If you’re weighing up two universities, the deciding factor could be that the vibe’s not right at one of them.

It’s important to feel like the staff at your prospective uni care about your academic future and are there to guide you down that pathway, and university open days are a great way to get a feel of the different campuses and see how welcoming and helpful the staff are.

University of Western Australia

On Sunday 17 March UWA’s Open Day is a great chance to discover all the degree pathways while enjoying chill zones, student music and more. It’s always a fun day, with food trucks, free rides around campus, chemistry shows and loads more.

Curtin University

Make your way down to Curtin’s campus on Sunday 24 March from 10am-3pm to tour the facilities and have all your questions answered. Regardless of your area of interest, this open day will provide you with the chance to explore a variety of degree pathways, courses, and scholarships that could help your education journey. If you’re looking for on campus housing, you’ll be able to checkout all their accommodation options. Once you’re done, grab a bite to eat from one of the many food outlets and enjoy the live music.

Murdoch

Explore Murdoch’s campus on Saturday the 23rd of March from 10am-3pm and get a taste of life at this university. This open day will host a bunch of cool activities, informative sessions and demonstrations including an eruptive chemistry show. You’ll get the chance to meet student ambassadors, graduates and staff to chat about your academic passions, entry pathways, scholarship options and on campus living. There’s also a range of helpful sessions you can attend including an “everything you need to know” 30-minute breakdown to make your entry into this uni as seamless as possible. If you love animals, there’s even a tour of their animal hospital available on the day.

Edith Cowan University

With three campuses around WA, you’ve got a triple shot at catching an open day to explore your options at ECU. The Joondalup Campus will be open on Sunday 14 April from 10am-3pm; Mt Lawley campus is be open a little later on Sunday 28 April from 10am-3pm; and Bunbury’s open day is Sunday 21 April from 10am-1pm. At any of these campuses you’ll be able to speak to current students and staff, listen to a few interesting presentations, enjoy some musical entertainment, hit up the food trucks and even browse the market stalls for a bargain.

Notre Dame

On Saturday 4 May checkout Notre Dame’s campus from 10am-3pm to discover everything the university has on offer and pick the brains of current students, staff and graduates. Whether you’re still a student in high school, you graduated 20 years ago or you’ve already completed a university degree, you’ll be able to assess all your course options, learn about specific programs, support services, scholarship options and all the ways to make university affordable for you. There’ll be loads of workshops, food, entertainment, campus tours and student life expos. There’s also an International Student Team who are ready to help out if you’re from abroad.
