The best dog friendly cafes around Perth
Is there a better way to start the day than a delectable brunch and a coffee to wake you up?
Enjoying it with our four-legged friends, of course. Here are just a few of Perth’s best pooch-friendly cafes for your next brekkie date:
Slate Café
Slate don’t mess around when it comes to pups – not only does the cafe offer puppy play dates in their off-lead area each weekend, but there’s often an on-site treat truck and puppacinos a-plenty. As well as pups, it’s one of Perth’s best kid-friendly cafés, with excellent coffee and eats to boot.
4 Dulwich Street, Bennett Springs
Lot One Kitchen
Lot One Kitchen may be small in size, but it’s big on flavour. These guys make sure your pooch is looked after with their relaxed coastal eatery – which is conveniently close to the Hillarys dog beach. Set up out the front, with a coffee, in the sunshine with your pooch after a dip in the ocean is a pretty good start to the morning we reckon.
46 Angove Drive, Hillarys
Two Dogs Laughing
At Two Dogs Laughing you’re always guaranteed to find at least one dog laughing – Boncie, the cafe dog! Of course, you’re very welcome to bring your own puppy pal along for a free puppuccino while you enjoy some of their delicious food in the al fresco area, all sourced from free range produce. It’s a quirky space filled with quirky characters, as they put it best: “Our team put their heart into what they do, come and join us so we can share a bit of love with you.”
199 South Street, Beaconsfield
Union Kitchen
Located right on the Mindarie Marina, enjoy water views, alfresco outdoor dining and some picture-perfect opportunities for some Insta snaps. Union even has a pooch wall of fame, and an entire dog menu for your pup to drool over and demolish.
3 Ocean Falls Boulevard, Mindarie
Holly Rayes
Love dogs, coffee and urban art? Then you’ll love Holly Raye’s. Tucked away in Bassendean, the exterior boasts a stunning Anya Brock artwork that features the owner’s dog, Angus. The café itself is dog-friendly, and we love that they openly encourage patrons to bring their fur-kids with them when they visit.
1 James Street, Bassendean
Flora & Fauna
It’s hard to believe that everything from Flora & Fauna comes from its pint-sized kitchen. While the inside is tiny and understated, the Northbridge laneway comes alive with the cafe’s cheerful alfresco vibes. Vegan offerings run the gamut from banana bread (a huge wedge, served with a gigantic plate of fruit), to tropical waffles topped with mango and raw salted caramel, to savoury treats like Mexican mac n cheese, or a towering corn fritter stack. Another huge benefit to the cafe’s alfresco seating? Pup-friendliness!
4/70 Aberdeen Street, Northbridge
Brother Of Mine
This Baldivis coffee brewer is pumping out some pretty epic brunches, including some bang-up pancakes (some of our favourites in Perth). As well as community-driven vibes and delectable food, their ample outdoor seating makes them the perfect spot to bring your pooch!
Shop 10 / 61 Makybe Drive, Baldivis
Daisies
You can’t help but feel that it’s summertime when you’re at Daisies. The morning crowds will agree: a post swim snack of a Daisies sausage roll (one of our favourites) is hard to beat – plus the alfresco seating makes it a pooch-friendly favourite. A stroll past the luxe Cott mansions is also a great way to walk the dog on the way in.
305 Marmion Street, Cottesloe
Third Wheel
This super cute, very Freo cafe is like if your most chill friend opened up a cafe in their backyard. Attached to South Beach Cycles, and next door to South Freo fave Madalena’s, Third Wheel’s verandah is the perfect spot to down one of their house-made nut milk lattes or one of their tofu sarnies – all with your pup by your side, of course.
408 South Terrace, South Fremantle
The Cool Room
On the eastern side of Freo you’ll find The Cool Room tucked away. At the crossroads of two suburban streets, next to vintage store Old Values, it’s hard not to feel pretty charmed by the mish-mash of retro Formica tables, plants and brightly coloured umbrellas. It’s as unpretentious as they come, yet out of their tiny kitchen they manage to serve up breakfasts that can rival Perth’s best. Their carpark tables are a veritable who’s-who of Freo cool kids and cute pups.
Shop 2/114 Holland Street, Fremantle
Laika
Helmed by owners previously from Hylin and Mano e Mano, Laika pairs their next level brunch game with equally next level coffee that’s roasted in-house,. Coffee buffs can dissect the ins and outs of micro lots and post harvest processes, while the more food motivated among us (guilty) can enjoy a perfect thick cut eggs benny, or the wild mushroom trio with ricotta, or the roast tomato and burrata toast… And of course, with its namesake being the famed cosmonaut pup, there’s plenty of room for dogs, too.
11 Lathlain Place, Lathlain
Stomp Coffee
Neighbourhood oasis Stomp Coffee is the perfect balm to a rocky morning. Pull up a chair in the picturesque courtyard, order a coffee made with beans from an impressive roster of featured roasters, and check out their menu, which has grown from hangover-curing breakfast bagels to include more elaborate offerings – think pan fried mushrooms and feta, sumac scrambled eggs or quinoa porridge topped with fresh fruit. That lush courtyard also leaves plenty of room for friendly pooches – just keep them out of your flat white!
39 Angove Street, North Perth
Hylin
Old favourite Hylin has gotta be your next Sunday morning destination. Pull up a chair under the trees out the front and take in their lush menu – whether you’re after a quick bagel or their impressive smashed avo. Those tables are also a favourite haunt of local dog-lovers, with plenty of pups around for patting.
178 Railway Parade, West Leederville
Mount Street Breakfast Bar
You and your dog arrive, both panting, at the top of Jacob’s Ladder… you probably deserve a pretty good breakfast now, right? Luckily, Mount Street Breakfast Bar is just around the corner. A limited yet considered menu awaits – think crispy falafel with barley tabbouleh and poached eggs, or crushed avocado and roasted tomatoes with labneh and za’atar.
42 Mount Street, Perth
Finlay & Sons
One of the stars of the Inglewood breakfast set, their killer hash browns aren’t the only reason to pay a visit to Finlay & Sons. They’ve got plenty of tables sprawling over the footpath for you to wander up with your pooch, plus a handy coffee window if you’re on-the-go. The menu offerings are simple and healthy, done really bloody well, plus the locals swear by their coffee, and who are we to argue?

Babylon Café
Hidden away in a leafy nook in Leederville, Babylon is a rustic gem. Pick up a cult-favourite bagel, and settle in under an umbrella in the courtyard. They say it best: they’re big friends of dogs and have plenty of pats in their hearts for everyone!
656 Newcastle Street, Leederville
Yahava KoffeeWorks
If your pup is as much of a coffee snob as you are, you’ll have to cruise on out to Yahava KoffeeWorks’ Swan Valley outpost. You can both follow your noses to the smell of roasting coffee as it wafts through the air – and enjoy a coffee (or a puppy-cino) taking in the picturesque surrounds. Plus, if you and your pooch are heading down south, their Margaret River cafe is also dog-friendly!
4752 West Swan Road, West Swan
