Now that we’ve turned the corner into sunshine season, it’s time to hit up some of our favourite beachside cafes.

Ol’ Buoy

We couldn’t have been happier to hear about the return of Cott’s resident beachside pop-up Ol’ Buoy for a second summer. Helmed by the crews from both Daisies and Some-day, these guys know how to sort you out with a post-swim coffee and snack. We can tell you from experience, the sausage and egg muffin goes down a real treat, especially if you’re too early for the epic fish burger.

The Little Bay

The Little Bay really is pretty-as-a-picture. Whether you’re an aspiring influencer or simply want a good view with your brunch, The Little Bay’s layout + location is almost impossible to beat. While you can still get your big breakfast and eggs benny, the menu ups the ante with breakfast gnocchi and Turkish eggs… which would go really well with a Bloody Mary, just saying.

33 West Coast Drive, Watermans Bay

Surfing Lizard

Adjoining the Coogee Beach SLC, Surfing Lizard might not have as insta-friendly a fit-out as some of the other spots on this list, nevertheless: it’s what’s inside (or rather, on the plate) that counts. Classic breakfast plates, seaside lunch staples as well as Vietnamese specials will fill your belly, while their coffee and location is top notch.

20 Poore Grove, Coogee

Little Sup

This cruisey hole in the wall coffee shop is a buzzing surfies spot. Only a stone’s throw from North Cott beach, you can even pick up a surf or paddle board from Ocean Merchants while you’re there. We can practically taste the salty air just thinking about it.

4/1 Eric Street, Cottesloe

Third Wheel

This super cute, very Freo cafe is like if your most chill friend opened up a cafe in their backyard. Attached to South Beach Cycles, Third Wheel’s verandah is the perfect spot to down one of their house-made nut milk lattes or one of their tofu sarnies.

408 South Terrace, South Fremantle

The Shorehouse

When it comes to food, Nigella Lawson knows what she’s talking about. So when she Instagrammed her meal at The Shorehouse this year, it confirmed that it was one of Perth’s best beachside eateries. More of a restaurant than a cafe, it’s still way high up on the list of where to get brunch with an ocean view.

278 Marine Parade, Swanbourne

Bib and Tucker

I mean, this one goes without saying. Bib and Tucker is a heavyweight when it comes to beachside dining in Perth. There’s no better place to watch the sunset or treat yourself to the huevos rancheros or a cheeky breakfast martini.

18 Leighton Beach Boulevard, North Fremantle

Il Lido

One of Perth’s best restaurants, period – this one’s gotta be at the high on the agenda for beachside eats. Right on Cott beach’s doorstep, this is a perfect place for a post swim coffee (using locally roasted Mano e Mano beans) or a rustic Italian lunch with pals.

88 Marine Parade, Cottesloe

Swell Mullaloo Beach

With the coastal decor inside, you can hardly tell where the beach ends and Swell begins. Open for breakfast, lunch and dinner, you can get your beachside fix anytime of day – with some pretty hard-to-beat views, too.

Odyssea

Odyssea’s expansive wrap-around deck offers one of the best beach views you’re gonna get, anywhere, anytime. With a menu that’s appropriately seafood-y, and draws from various coastal cuisines (it’s a little bit Mediterranean, and a little bit Asian, with a few tortillas here and there), you’re set whether you’re grabbing a quick post swim coffee from the takeaway window or a sunset cocktail.

Lot One

Open for breakfast and lunch, the Lot One kitchen may be small in size, but it’s big on flavour – as well as community spirit. With some high quality eating and drinking on offer, you can pop by for an afternoon spritz or a couple of zucchini and smoked salmon fritters, and soak up the friendly vibes.

46 Angove Drive, Hillarys

The Beach House

Since opening last year The Beach House in Jindalee has fast become a real destination venue. The unmatched views are matched by the leafy, coastal interior decor, a cruisey, beachy attitude and a Bloody Mary that’ll certainly wake you up in the morning.

Jaffelato

It doesn’t matter how old we get, we can always be seduced by the humble jaffle. As you might have guessed from the name, Jaffelato certainly has those on lock, serving up gourmet jaffles on the Rockingham foreshore. And while the jaffles are certainly restorative, they’re paired with some stellar Leftfield coffee to get you going.

3 Rockingham Beach Road, Rockingham

OSTRO Eatery

Just down the road from Jaffelato, (and just across the road from the beach) you’ll find OSTRO – for when a jaffle just won’t cut it. Their all day breakfast menu will get you fuelled up for whatever the day holds, with plenty of brunch classics on offer: think eggs bennies, big brekkies and more.
