Fortunately for them (and you), Perth has a variety of different dog training clubs for varying levels of obedience training. Not only is it a great way to get you and your puppy pal on the same page, dog training clubs can also be really helpful for their social skills when it comes to hanging with other pups and people.
Kaizen K9
Kaizen K9 are quite possibly the most experienced dog training crew you’ll find in Perth with owner/operators Ben and Samantha having more than 25 years experience between them. The trainers use modern techniques to address a variety of issues you may have with your doggo like unruly behaviour, aggression, lead-pulling, jumping on people and separation anxiety to name a few. Dog Whispering is the brain-pup (see what we did there?) of Neri Karazija, who began the business travelling around Australia in 2005, before settling in Perth. Each year she goes to the UK to spend time with world-renowned wolf behaviourists Sean & Kim Ellis, so it’s fair to say she knows her stuff and is passionate about canines of all shapes and sized. Perth Paws’ Emma and Susan are experienced dog trainers who’ve been working with pups for almost 15 years in a variety of forms, and still regularly attend courses from the world’s best trainers. Offering Puppy Classes, Social Walks, In Home Consults and Walk & Trains, they employ reward-based training without force or intimidation around the Perth metro area. Perth Obedience & Dog Training Club
PTODC was the very first obedience dog club in Perth, and now hold classes on Wednesday (obedience) at Raphael Park and Friday (agility) at Harold Rossiter Park in Vic Park. They work with dogs and owners of all ages and levels, and are always happy for new members to join. Their not-for-profit and run by a committee of volunteers, so you know there’s a heap of love and attention from all involved.
