Perhaps it’s the very dry July we’ve just had, but we gotta say we’re jonesing for a beer or two – stat!
And we’ve got two eyes firmly focused on this year’s Froth Town at Claremont Showgrounds on August 18-19 to really let the dogs out.
As always it’s not all just about the beer though – they’re planning their biggest event ever in 2023, with an insane amount of fun planned over three huge sessions.
Read on below for some of the highlights, and head to the Froth Town website to grab your ticket today – which also nets you a free IPA Froth Town glass, a trademark of the fest that keeps over 200,000 cups out of waste bins!
You’ve got three sessions to choose from
Froth Town runs from Friday 18 until Saturday 19 August, and you’ve got three sessions to choose from! F*yeah Friday runs from 5-11pm, featuring all the good stuff and a soundtrack from Perth’s best DJs. And then the next day you’ve got big sunshine vibes at Satur-day for it from 10am-4pm, before Super Saturday Night kicks into overdrive from 5-11pm. Only a legend would tackle all three…
There’s dozens of breweries to try
Of course what is a beer festival without the hops, and as always Froth Town has found the cream of Australia’s frothy crop to dive into. All of your favourite breweries big, small and crafty will be slinging the best of the best, plus there’ll be special limited releases and more to discover.
Along with cideries, wineries, distilleries and no-alc options galore
Not a huge beer drinker but love a good time all the same? There are plenty of you out there, and you’ll be more than looked after with a delicious array of producers in the cider, wine and spirits games. And whether you’re keeping the Dry July vibes or just aren’t a huge drinker, there’ll be plenty of non-alc options to whet your whistle as well!
There’s plenty of food to keep you fuelled
No drinking session ended well without some food in your belly, and within Froth Town you’ll find some of Perth’s finest food trucks and vendors. From epic street food to delectable desserts, there’s something to suit any palette, preference or dietary requirement – have a squiz here.
Rollicking rides and sideshow alley
Forget the Royal Show, Froth Town is home to its own version of the school holiday staple with show rides including Dodgems, the Super Nova, Sideshow alley games, Power Surge, Rocket League gaming arena, bucking bulls and more. Saturday’s day session is family-friendly, so there’ll be extra kids activities on if you want to bring the fam.
Best in show Dad Bods and Eating Comps
A feature of Froth Towns has been their commitment to competition – non-serious of course! The instantly-iconic Dad Bod Comp is back again, along with a Hot Dog eating comp and the Sumo Wrestling challenge. There’s also a ‘Closest To The Pin’ driving range, Bundaberg Backyard Cricket, giant ping pong, bucking bulls and more to stir your competitive spirit.
Live music and sport on the big screen
Every session you’ll find entertainment in every corner, including live wrestling matches and live music from an epic lineup of local bands, plus DJs in the Nova 937 Tower and a silent disco to boogie late into the eve. You won’t miss any of the big games that weekend either with a designated Sports Bar showing the footy all weekend – presented by yours truly!
