Summer days, drifting away to oh, those summer nights! Well-a, well-a, well-a… We’ve rounded up some of our favourite beachside takeaways for those easy-breezy summer dinners by the sea. Oh and by the way if you’re looking for fish and chips we suggest this article.

Stone Jetty Fish Market

A fish monger and fish and chip shop in the same building?! Kind of, although Stony Jetty ain’t your average fish and chip shop – offering boutique servings with a styling that feels very gourmet yet very accessible. They’ll sell you ready-made meals you just need to take home and whack in the oven, like Red Spot Emperor with garlic and paprika butter, olives, tomato, potato and white wine, all in a pretty parcel for one.

North Street Store

Yadda, yadda, we’re banging on about North Street Store again. We know, it goes without saying at this point – except that there still seems to be some of the population unaware of their killer takeaway dinners? The menu changes everyday and is released on their instagram that afternoon, with repeat stars like steak and parmi nights, pesto gnocchi and plenty more delicious delights.

Canteen Pizza

Canteen promises pizza, wine and a real good time – and they certainly deliver. On our list of favourite pizzas in Perth, these guys have a view to match – which is even better when you take it across the road.

Il Locale

Another tip-top pizza spot, Il Locale might be set back a few blocks back from Brighton Beach, but it’s worth picking up a pie for the road. Grab one of their traditional wood fired pizzas and take it just a couple of minutes down the road to enjoy with the sunset – we’re quite partial to anything involving a burrata, but if you time things right you can even get a pizza for breakfast.

Swell

With the coastal decor inside, you can hardly tell where the beach ends and Swell begins. Open for breakfast, lunch and dinner, you can get your beachside fix anytime of day – and while the dining room is practically on the beach, they have plenty of their menu available to takeaway as well.

Rustico

For some of the most legit tapas this side of Barcelona, you’ve gotta head to Rustico. We find it hard to resist a post-swim snack and sangria – especially during their happy hour specials on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Sundays where you can pick up both for a bargain – but they’ve also got a selection of their favourites (sangria included!) available in takeaway form. Just think, smoked chorizo in one hand, sangria in the other, sand between your toes… As they say: full stomach, happy heart!

BOB JO

Neighbouring the Mandurah foreshore, newbie Bob Jo is serving up some delicious Korean cuisine. The new beach food – crispy fried chicken, spicy tteok bok ki, flavourful japchae. Who says your only options are fish and chips?

Run Amuk

Hot diggity dog! This family run joint has been slinging hot dogs out of North Freo since 2011, and they’ve stuck around with good reason: they’re so damn tasty. Whether you like your dogs classic, “unleashed”, vegan or spicy AF, you won’t be able to get enough. Grab one to go and wander over to South Beach – only a hop, skip and jump down the road.

Uncle Santos

Get the romance going with our one true love: a kebab. Uncle Santos’ kebab van (say that ten times fast) can often be found parked up next to dog-friendly Mosman Beach with some fresh and delicious kebabs.
