“Where do you want to go for breakfast this morning?” It’s a question many of us ask ourselves far too regularly – whether your too lazy to make your own, have a date with friends/significant others, or need to impress your mum… A decent breakfast joint is worth its wait in gold. Picking that place is always the tough part, so @breakfastinperth have selected 10 of the best from north to south, east to west, to make the decision a little easier for you:
NIC & KOLO, Applecross
The perfect spot for breakfast, lunch or dinner. This café has a generous indoor area (that’s very pretty!) as well as space outdoors for you to lap up the chilled vibes of Applecross Village. After you’ve knocked back their delish smashed avo, try their crème brûlée for dessert – yum!
PAPER AVENUE, Joondalup
Bright, healthy food in the heart of Joondalup pretty much sums up this relatively new (it’s been around for about nine months), and very delicious, addition to the northern café scene. Try their Strawberry Swoon or Apple Matcha Latte for something different!
PICCOLO’S CORNER, Leederville
All hail the smashed avo KWEENS. This place is a brekkie institution, located in the leafy suburban streets of Leedy. If smashed avo isn’t your jam, the smashed pumpkin is equally as enjoyable.
GEORGE STREET QUARTERS, East Fremantle
You can find George Street Quarters alongside George Street Merchants (their gourmet food market component) on – you guessed it – George Street in East Freo. Be sure to order one of their legendary smoothie bowls – the Blue Ocean Bowl is a goody for the more adventurous brunchers out there. The area itself is awesome, with lots of little boutique shops and cafés that are worth a ramble through post-eats.
THE TRIBUTE, Shelley
It’s so cool to see more great spots popping up in the ‘burbs. Feel saintly as you chow down on their healthy nourish bowl or smashed avocado, and then indulge in their Belgian waffles for dessert!
THE LITTLE BANKSIA, Kensington
This converted house is super cute. They serve up tasty, generously-portioned food and even have an awesome play area that’s perfect for keeping the kids off the phones.
FLORA & FAUNA, Northbridge
Flora & Fauna is small but mighty. They serve up bright, healthy food with a focus on vegan and gluten free treats as well.
PIXEL COFFEE BREWERS, Leederville
These guys are consistently awesome. A go-to Sunday brunch spot and a must-visit for epic cakes (if you still have room after their huge PIX PLATE, a potato and herb smash with poached eggs, prosciutto and parmesan).
THE COOL ROOM, Fremantle
Two words for you: Haloumi Bruschetta. Order it, and thank us later. This quirky spot is only open Thursday-Sunday but it’s worth holding out for.
GET CHUNKY, Mt Lawley
Cookies can be breakfast…right? The best dang cookies you’ll find in Perth – super chunky, and super delicious AND they make a mean ice cream cookie sanga. Treat yoself.
