The Best Nightclubs Around Perth For A Late Night Boogie
How do you do, fellow kids? We’re here to talk about the best nightclubs around Perth for a late night dance! And while a few of us’ late night partying days may be behind us, some of us still love to get amongst it, and when we do it’s usually at one of the following:
Jack Rabbit Slim’s
Live music early, dance party late – this has been the Jack Rabbit Slim’s credo over the past half decade and a bit. Regularly hosting touring and local bands earlier in the night, attention turns towards DJs for the latter half of the evening on weekends throwing party jams washed down with their signature blue Power Rave juice keeping things rowdy ’til very late.
133 Aberdeen St, Perth
Barbes
If forward-thinking electronica is more your tip, Barbes in East Perth has a rotating selection of crews throwing different parties for all comers. From the future beat stylings of wldflwer and Turnt Tables’ harder house/techno to tribal-infused house grooves from Solouk and disco-filled dancefloors with New Day, there’s literally something for everyone in a very welcoming space.

Quite possibly the longest running gay nightclub in the southern hemisphere, Connections doesn’t so much cater to the LGBTQIA+ market as it does to people are equal parts playful, kind and wild. The only condition being you bring a good attitude and your dancing shoes. If your feet get weary though don’t worry – their rooftop terrace offers a great views along with a great chance to meet friendly, like-minded folks. There’s a reason this place has been pumping for over 40 years.

Metropolis Fremantle
While Freo may be light on for late night dance venues, there is one big house that has loomed large over South Terrace for a few decades now – Metros Freo. A young crowd romps around a variety of different rooms all focused on party bangers from doors open until doors closed. Run by the same crew as Magnet House, you can expect a similarly large audio/visual element to your night, with tunes regularly thrown down by popular A/V DJ NDorse joined by live horns, flamethrowers, dancers… you name it!

Butterfly 73
If you’ve strolled down Francis St on any given weekend night there’s a good chance you’ve noticed a huge line out the front of Butterfly 73, who have the rap/hip hop/R&B/trap/bass side of music on lock. Things get particularly rowdy at their weekly Sanctuary Saturday nights, while it gets a little groovier on Thursdays for their Mi Casa latin nights. Expect sparks to fly (literally) and if this sounds like your jam, may we suggest getting down early.

Lucy’s Love Shack
Originally starting out as a late night rock’n’roll pizza joint, Lucy’s is slowly heading back towards its club roots as the former home of Ambar with a few more dance music-focused crews rolling through to keep the dancefloor vibing late. Similar to Slim’s though if you pop in earlier you can still expect to find some great local bands ripping the stage up early, along with popular queer-friendly night Cherry Bomb bringing party tunes on the reg.
