It’s worth braving the line for a ramen from the first Keisuke in Australia at The Melbourne Hotel. Founded by Japanese born Keisuke Takeda, this small noodle bar is a ramen hot spot in the city, with a menu full of authentic ramen options, such as red spicy ramen with extra black fungus and boiled eggs.

Try their Mee Goreng Mamak with Penang style fried noodles, squid strips, egg and potatoes, or ask for their Bihun Goreng that is made with stir fried rice noodles, a true Malaysian style sambal. They also make a rich and creamy Laksa, if you’re wanting to try all their noodle dishes.

If you’re chasing a noodle dish with a difference, then head to Northbridge for The Standard’s Korean BBQ chicken with sweet potato noodles that are covered in peanuts and a herb salad. Their menu also boasts a side dish of ‘Maggie’, noodles with chicken butter, spring onion and garlic crumb. Yum!

Another Northbridge noodle haunt is Double Rainbow. Their vegan-friendly smoked bean curd with black bean jajang myeon noodles come with Manjimup truffle. We can’t think of a better way to celebrate truffle season.

It’s no surprise that this Leederville restaurant is on the list with its assortment of traditional Asian noodle dishes, that are spicy and full of flavour. Their drunken noodles are addictive, made with shiitake mushrooms, aromatics and chilli for that extra kick.

Calling all dim sim and yum cha addicts, Little China Girl on Roe Street serves a mean wok-fry noodle with soy. It’s a hit with vegans (and non-vegans) and is worth adding to your order…amongst all of the steamed dumplings and pork buns that you’ll end up ordering.

Have you been to Tonic & Ginger yet? Seriously, if you’re craving a menu with a south east Asian fusion, then head inside The Old Synagogue to this restaurant. Most of their menu is vegetarian-friendly, including their wok tossed rice noodles with tofu and Asian mushrooms, with a roast cashew sauce.

We haven’t forgotten laksa. Red Chair Café in Subiaco dishes up a hearty laksa. The renowned spicy noodle dish is a coconut curry soup, with either chicken, seafood or a vegetarian version of tofu and bean sprouts. You can choose from thick egg noodles or thin rice vermicelli noodles.

Their noodle menu is extensive and comes with all your favourite options; vegetables, seafood, roasted duck and a combination.
