Fine And Dandy: Karrinyup’s New Multi-Level Venue Dandelion Is Now Open

Long gone are the days when shopping centre dining was limited to some lacklustre food court options – times have changed, and we couldn’t be happier. Karrinyup‘s slick new redevelopment wouldn’t be complete without some suitably slick new eateries, and the sunshine-drenched West Deck has just been blessed with one more.

Helmed by award-winning hospitality operator (and third-generation publican) John Parker, the eclectic Dandelion brings together a similarly exciting blend of staff and influences seen in his other venues, which include the Standard, The Royal, Fleur and Willi’s.

Drinks-wise, you can expect a wine list that leans into the fun and flirty and a rotating tap selection across the two bars – but their cocktails will have the benefit of the venue’s in-house distillery. Crafting the venue’s own gin and vodka, the gleaming, golden contraption is the show-stopper of the downstairs bar.

Upstairs, you can enjoy the breezy balcony that overlooks the West Deck, or curl up next to the fire during the colder months.

The menu can only really be categorised into “tasty” – kind of casual, kind of schmick, the focus is on big flavour, in no small part because of the rotisserie grill and wood-fired oven. The kitchen is lead by Group Executive Chef Chase Weber: the man responsible for the distinctive menus at sister venues the Standard, the Royal, and Fleur.

Finish up a hard day’s work of shopping with a cocktail and a snack, or head there for a pre-movie dinner – although we think you’ll be looking for any excuse to visit.
