Perth’s Best Dog-Friendly Pubs And Bars
There’s nothing we love more than a beer in the sun, but we have to admit: it feels a bit hollow without our (well-behaved) four-legged friends by our side. To remedy this, we’ve rounded up our favourite doggo-friendly bars and pubs to down a bevvy with man’s best friend.
Picabar
Already one of Perth’s best spots for an outdoor bev, Picabar has truly levelled up with an expanded outdoor decking area and bar. Somehow they’ve managed to lose none of their old charm, whilst upgrading everything to make it one of, if not the best watering holes in Northbridge. Plus, with all that outdoor area, there’s plenty of space for well-behaved pups.
51 James Street, Northbridge
Rosemount Hotel
The leafy green, doggo-friendly surrounds of the Rosemount Hotel’s beer garden have been a North Perth staple for years, and the fact you can hardly find a seat on the weekends even though it’s huge is testament to that. Add regular live acoustic acts and DJs to go with a ripper modern Aussie pub menu and you’ve got a winner.
459 Fitzgerald Street, North Perth
The Brisbane
Given its unassuming position along Beaufort Street it can be easy to forget about The Brisbane, but it should be right back on your radar as summer approaches with its beautiful beer garden. Walking through the front gates into the beer garden is almost like stepping into a tropical Bali bar – but unlike Bali, your pooch can come, too!
292 Beaufort Street, Northbridge
Ezra Pound
Sipping on a Negroni down Ezra‘s laneway is an unparalleled treat – except for when you’re missing your four-legged friend. Luckily, the laneway tables are the perfect spot to set up camp with your pooch, and maybe even reenact some Lady and the Tramp-style spaghetti eating from neighbouring pasta fave Francoforte.
Williams Lane, 189 William Street, Northbridge
Seasonal Brewing
Brewed on-site, it’s worth a visit to Seasonal just for their beers – but if you can grab a seat in the sunshine in their sweet, leafy garden? With a reuben croquette or that legendary Sunday roast, pup by your side? Well, that’s just idyllic.
175 Guildford Road, Maylands
Percy Flint
As far as cute, doggo-friendly courtyards go, Percy Flint’s is an absolute treat. A small bar and eatery (and sister venue to Picabar), they do some bang up pub fare (parmis, steak sandwiches) as well as some more small-bar-high-brow options, plus a tidy little rotating wine list. Whatever you get, it’s best enjoyed while the South Freo sun slowly sets on a warm Sunday afternoon – whether you’re in the courtyard or watching the world go by out the front.
211 South Terrace, South Fremantle
The Local Hotel
Another idyllic South Freo spot (and across the road neighbour of Percy Flint) is the Local Hotel. This also very chill, very Freo hotel is offering up some of the best pub grub around – with a lush plant filled fit out, and even better food on offer, you’ll wish this was your neighbourhood watering hole. While they don’t have a courtyard on offer, they do have plenty of alfresco seating out the front where you and your pooch can sit back and enjoy a beverage or two.
282 South Terrace, South Fremantle
The Windsor Hotel
Not only is The Windsor Hotel‘s Garden Bar the best beer garden in South Perth, not only can you bring your dog, it’s even packing its own microbrewery – Ogden’s Brewery. Brewed smack bang in the middle of the garden, you can watch head brewer Mark in action while you down some of his amber ales. Head there on a Sunday for DJs, cheap cocktails, fresh oysters and a $2 BBQ – sold!
112 Mill Point Road, South Perth
Rose & Crown Hotel
Take yourself and your pup to Guildford for a pint at one of Western Australia’s oldest hotels. Okay, maybe there’s a ghost or two, but the Rose & Crown‘s general vibe is warm, fresh and modern with a little rustic charm on the side. Sit yourself in the sunshine in the leafy garden with some local live music, and try not to give your pooch too many tastes of your roast lunch.
105 Swan Street, Guildford
Henry Summer
If you’re someone who can’t leave home without your best friend, there’s a good chance you’ll know Henry Summer is one of the friendliest dog-friendly bars in the city – so much so that they’ve even hosted multiple Pooch-a-Palooza events with dog fashion, photobooths and more. But even on a regular day, the leafy oasis is more than happy to host you and your pup for an afternoon drink.
69 Aberdeen Street, Northbridge
Wines Of While
Give us an alfresco area, and we’ll give you a dog-friendly bar… At least that’s our attitude. Meander up William Street and find a seat amongst Wines of While’s sought-after alfresco tables – is there a better way to spend a warm evening than enjoying a glass of natty wine and some charcuterie with your pup at your feet?

Juanita’s
Juanita’s is a bar with character. Around for yonks, afternoon drinks at the warm and welcoming neighbourhood favourite have become a fixture for locals, rain or shine (although a bit of shine doesn’t hurt). Head there for a top selection of eats that pair perfectly with a few drinks out the front, all while your doggo captures the hearts of anyone walking past.
