One of the many gem eateries around Scarborough and Doubleview, Stone Jetty, is calling it a day after three years.

Owners Tom and Jimmy Younger announced the news via Instagram earlier today, deciding not to renew their lease after what sounds like a tough year.

“After 3 years of proudly serving our local community we have closed our doors for good,” says the post. “The last year hasn’t been the easiest and on the balance of things we elected not to renew our lease.”

Bringing a fresh, fish-monger take on fish and chips to the area, Stone Jetty was a popular haunt for both takeaway and BYO dinners, with this humble scribe having a particular fondness for their burgers and fish tacos.

Being one of the few fish and chops around town who offer gluten free options (with a dedicated fryer), makes this an even harder pill to swallow, although all is not lost…

“Don’t be sad! If you missed out on one last serve of our tasty treats you can keep an eye out for us popping up in the future.”

In the mean time, half of the duo Jimmy will be enjoying a well-earned rest, and we eagerly hope to see Stone Jetty’s superlative seafood options somewhere around Perth in the future.

“Jimmy will be enjoying his well deserved retirement. I’ll be taking a break indefinitely but will most definitely not be retiring.”
