Perth-raised journo-turned-chef Drasko Jankovic has just opened a brand new, Nashville-inspired hot chicken restaurant in Mt Hawthorn, and it looks delish!

Drasko’s Hot Chicken is bringing the cult American food fave to the Mezz in Mt Hawthorn, having just opened last Saturday 9 January.

“There is something magic about turning a humble piece of chicken into an experience that brings tears of pleasure and pain in one mouthful,” Jankovic says.

“Taking inspiration from my time in Nashville and Noma, I look forward to bringing this special kind of experience to Perth.”

Jankovic originally brought the heat on a past season of My Kitchen Rules, and his new hot chicken joint will be bringing five different levels of heat to the menu.

The Nashville hot chicken can go from Southern (no heat) to Blame Drasko (extra hot), while the extra game can ask for a special off-menu ‘Bastard Chilli’, employing one of the world’s hottest chillies grown in Carnarvon (you even have to sign a waiver to eat it).

Local produce is of course a big feature across the menu, including free range chicken from the Swan Valley, sourdough from Maylands, gluten free buns from Monsterella, canola oil from Kojonup and more.

The restaurant is walk-ins only and BYO, so we’ll let you hit the WEBSITE or INSTAGRAM for more info and happy hot chickening!
