Construction has commenced on a brand new sweet shop on Busselton Foreshore, Little Otto’s Big Choc Shop.

It’s named after the big blue whale found near the mouth of Vasse River by a young girl named Daisy in August 1897 – the same whale who’s 24-metre skeleton now hangs in WA Museum Boola Bardip.

Little Otto’s comes to the foreshore thanks to Left Coast Leisure Group Pty Ltd (LCLG), the locally-owned parent company of nearby Shelter Brewing Co.

“We’re local ourselves with young families and we’re fiercely proud of Busselton – we are invested in, and committed to, making it a great place to live and to visit, for all the family,” said Asher Packard-Hair, one of LCLG’s six directors.

Little Otto’s will take be taking over the foreshore’s old tennis club building, with Packard-Hair saying they wanted to bring more family-focussed offerings to the area.

“It’s all about fun and excitement because chocolate creates happiness, and so does ice cream,” he said. “We are developing various fun activations that will encourage interaction between adults and kids – watch this space!”

Asher is joined by brother Zeb, along with Matt, Jason, Mike and Chris Credaro as the six directors from two fourth-generation Busselton families, just in case anyone wanted to question the cohort’s bonafides.

The 500sqm2 venue will also be slinging Daisy’s Gelato, another new brand.

“We’ve just bought a local gelateria that we’re using for off-site for research and development for Daisy’s Gelato ahead of Little Otto’s opening,” Packard-Hair said.

“The design of Little Otto’s includes a gelato window so people can enjoy a stroll along the beautiful Busselton Foreshore, or play in the epic Pirate Ship playground just opposite.”

Little Otto’s Big Choc Shop is scheduled to open around Easter, 2025.
