Look out for Long Point Brewing Co: $13m two-storey brewpub in Port Kennedy approved
After plans were unveiled at the end of May for a huge new tavern and microbrewery along the Port Kennedy foreshore, the Metro Outer Development Assessment Panel has this week approved the development.
In what will be known as Long Point Brewing Co, the development includes a two-storey brewpub, which will be home to an independent craft brewery, restaurant and function space.
The project is a joint venture between Shane Wormall of Wormall Group and West Australian Beach & Golf Resort (WABGR).
Wormall, who is a Port Kennedy local, is understandably pretty chuffed with the news.
“As one of the last north-facing coastal opportunities in Western Australia, Kennedy Bay is of world-class nature and should be celebrated as such,” he said. “Long Point Brewing Co will be a casual, family-friendly venue that welcomes you with thongs and sandy feet.”
Wormall said there’ll be an array of locally-crafted quality beers on offer to compliment a “flame-grilled inspired menu.”
WABGR director Lou D’Alessandro said the development would be a substantial addition to the community and town centre amenity.
“This development reiterates our dedication to establishing valued amenities that elevate the Kennedy Bay region,” he said.

“The brewery will not only provide a boost to the local economy, but it will also serve as a cultural hub and destination driver, attracting tourists and providing a unique space for community gatherings.”
The development will be located on Sea Beach Way, and is expected to support 100 jobs during construction, with 35 full-time opportunities to follow.
Long Point Brewing Co is estimated to attract 180,00 guests annuall.
Construction is set to commence at the end of this year, with doors to open in early 2026.
