Hospitality group Sesh Mafia continues their relentlessly energetic expansion, with the arrival of another subterranean venue to Brookfield Place this summer.

Lupe’s Cerveceria will neighbour Sesh Mafia’s existing Brookfield Place venue, Papi Katsu – and will join the group’s growing roster of venues that also includes Shui and Margot’s.

The group also has big plans for the coming months – and years – that include incoming Subiaco charcoal chicken spot Larry’s (named after comedian Larry David), the new era of recently closed Northbridge beer garden Henry Summer, a Mediterranean restaurant to take over the former Wagamama site in Subiaco, as well as a rooftop bar as part of the Claremont Quarter redevelopment.

Opening quietly (or rather, not so quietly) over the weekend, Lupe’s turns the group’s signature rambunctious spirit towards Mexico, promising tequila, tacos, and mischief.

Snacks, or botanas, keep things party-friendly – chorizo or duck taquitos, scallop tostadas, corn chips and guac, or elotes-inspired fried baby corn.

Tacos are kept to four options for now: lamb shoulder barbacoa, 12-hour pork shoulder, glazed and shredded beef short rib or oyster mushroom.

Alongside tequilas, the bar is stocked with a sizeable range of agave-based spirits including mezcal and raicilla – many of which are also put to good use in the extensive cocktail offering.

Lupe’s Cerveceria is now open, and is located on the lower level of Brookfield Place at 125 St Georges Terrace, Perth.
