Perth’s best pub trivia and quiz nights
Do you and your mates possess an infinite wealth of random knowledge? Do you know which country has the most pyramids (hint: it’s not Egypt)? Or perhaps you can name every capital city in the world without missing a beat?
If you enjoy a little rivalry between friends and a couple of cold pints while quizzing, one of these trivia nights around Perth could be for you:
MONDAY
Varsity
Running across all seven venues, Varsity offers a vast menu of delicious burgers to indulge in while
battling it out against other teams in the hopes of winning the elusive bar card (or free jug of beer). Starting every Monday as 7.30pm, its best to arrive around 5pm for happy hour to enjoy $2 off all tap beers.
Fenway
While there’s a Varsity in just about every corner of Perth, if you’re looking for a different brain-tickling location on a Monday night, Fenway in Subi brings the heat from 7pm (register from 6.30pm) where you and the team can also enjoy chilli mussels with neapolitan sauce and bread for $22.
TUESDAY
Civic Hotel
Quite possibly one of Perth’s most hotly contested quiz nights, the Funky Bunch trivia crew take the reins at the Civic Hotel on Tuesdays from 7pm with a $100 bar card up for grabs each week, along with running prizes through the night. Plus Tuesdays is their $15 schnitty night so if you win you’re basically makin’ money.
The Guildford Hotel
There are plenty of reasons to hit up The Guildford Hotel for their weekly Tuesday night quiz, including great prizes, good vibes and gorgeous food and drink. The real kicker – entry is free and if you book ahead you’ll score a round of free cheeseburger spring rolls!
Curtin Tavern
Spread across two hours from 5pm-7pm every Tuesday during teaching weeks, this trivia night is located at Curtin University’s beloved tavern. Providing FREE nachos to every quiz team, head domwn between 4pm and 5pm for Happy Hour drinks and get those neurons firing with $7 pints or wine.
WEDNESDAY
Johnny Fox’s
Popular Northbridge Irish pub Johnny Fox’s is the place to be on Wednesdays with the double hit of trivia and $9 burgers to push you past that mid-week funk. Quizmeisters are your hosts, and the good times kick off at 6.30pm.
The Inglewood Hotel
Hosted by Trivia legends Dux Nuts, The Inglewood Hotel‘s weekly Wednesday quiz night is held on their verandah bar from 7pm. First prize scores you and the team a $50 voucher, 2nd will get you $25 and third will keep you refreshed with a free jug – maximum of eight people per team.
Victoria Park Hotel
Another Wednesday contender is the Victoria Park Hotel with their Funky Bunch-hosted trivia. The Vic is looking better than ever thanks to their big renovations last year, and makes for a fantastic, and free-to-enter mid-week quiz night.
Subi Hotel
The team from Bamboozled take over the Subi Hotel every Wednesday night from 7pm-9pm to put all of that useless knowledge living in your noggin to good use! There are plenty of prizes on offer, plus Wednesday is $22 parmi night – win/win if you ask us!
The Bassendean Hotel
The new-look Bassendean Hotel‘s Connolly’s Sports Bar gets taken over by the fun team at Funky Bunch Trivia every Wednesday night from 7pm. It’s free to play with plenty of great prizes on offer.
THURSDAY
Bark
Bark in Subiaco have just launched a brand new weekly quiz night, working with The Weekly Fifty crew who have been running the game in Adelaide for a while now. It’s free from 7pm, you’ll cop some great prizes plus they’ve got an $18 chicken parmy special and $10 negronis! What’s not to love? Book ahead to be safe.
Freo.Social
One of Perth’s best live music venues also hosts a ripper quiz night on Thursdays, with registrations opening at 6pm for a 7pm start. Always a lot of fun, it’s also a great chance to work through their delicious menu and rotating range of beers on tap.
The Bayswater Hotel
The Bayswater Hotel‘s Thursday quiz nights are hosted by Bamboozled and kick off at 7pm, although we strongly suggest getting down a little earlier to enjoy one of their $18 burger, washed down with a $15 jug of Swanny D.
The Galway Hooker
The Galway Hooker on Thursday nights is the place to be for not only some quiz fun but a great feed! Hosted by Dux Nuts, entry is free and dinner is sorted thanks to Thursdays being $15 steak night… Or $25 if you’re feeling a little extra and grab the Scotch Fillet!
Nowhereman Brewing Co.
One of Perth’s most popular quiz nights on the reg, Quizmeisters host “The World’s Least Shit Pub Trivia” ever Thursday from 7pm. Reasons for popularity include: $100 bar vouchers for the winners and $40 for the runners up, it’s a really fun vibe, and it’s $25 parmi + pint night! Make sure you book ahead.
