If you’re heading down south and are looking to grab a good coffee in the area, we’re here to help…
Merchant and Maker
This one holds a special place in my heart not only because of the amazing vibe it has… but also for the rosemary and sea salt focaccia, that thing is to die for. The cafe opens at 6:30am (the earliest in the area), making it the perfect spot to visit after catching a sunrise or an early morning swim.
Arriving there at 6:30 will have the place packed out with people with wet hair, cute dogs (yes it is dog friendly) and smiles all round. Not forgetting the amazing smells of freshly baked bread and roasting coffee. The cafe has a lovely clean interior, and also has a small gift shop packed with local goods.
Goanna Gallery and Cafe
Tucked away in the bush, this cafe and art gallery is a must visit for any trip down south. The place has great food, and it truly is a lovely experience to sit outside and eat your eggs benedict surrounded by purely bush. After you’ve finished with your meal you can head around the art trail, which is full of quaint statues and art pieces scattered throughout the neighbouring bushland. If that doesn’t hit the spot, there’s a small gift shop inside you can check out as well.
A play on words from the beautiful Meelup Beach, Meal-up is an enjoyable place to have coffee, breakfast and a walk around. With a beautiful art gallery next door, you can sip your coffee whilst looking out the window and admiring the photography genius of Christian Fletcher. Their meals are very beautifully presented (with ‘The Hulk’ being especially good!), and the overall aesthetic of the place provides an amazing experience.
The Urban Coffee House
The Urban Coffee House is a cozy space with great ambience and amazing coffee. There are plenty of couches around to get comfy in whilst catching up with friends. The menu is inclusive for all, and so is it’s dog policy, so you can bring your 4 legged friend with you!
The Urban Coffee House is all about being environmentally friendly, so don’t forget to bring your own coffee cup if you want a 20 cent discount on your coffee.
A beautiful modernist cafe situated in the heart of Busselton, the Hummingbird is sure to impress. The all-white interior and exterior just screams aesthetics – this is definitely a place that you want on the ‘gram! The food is always well presented, and the coffee is equally as good. If you’re down for somewhere different, this is the place to be.
The Good Egg
Saving the best for last, The Good Egg is a definite worthy addition to the list. Being only two years old, this Busselton cafe won Countrywide’s best regional cafe in 2018 for Western Australia, and second best nation wide! Now if that doesn’t convince you, the amazing food and interior should! Having a new funky feel, this is definitely a stand out place in the ever growing Busselton. The cafe also doubles as a work hub, gift shop and even has a play area for the kiddos.
In honour of the owner’s late husband’s passing, 5% of all profits go towards brain cancer research, meaning you aren’t just supporting a great cafe, you’re supporting an even greater cause.
