We’ve given you the lowdown on what to do in Inglewood, but what about its riverside neighbour? Here’s some of our favourites from the 6051.

Way up high on the list of our picks for Perth’s best pizza, Rossonero is worth an adventure through the back lanes of Maylands. Hidden away in a former garage, this pizza spot serves up next level pies with friendly service to match. I can’t go past the Sticky Pig, but vegos won’t miss out with their vegan friendly cheese.

Lyric Lane

Recently opened neighbour to Rossonero, Lyric Lane is the highly anticipated, years-in-the- making, all-day, cafe-bar-music venue hybrid we’ve all been waiting for. Burger breakfasts on the weekend, basement gigs in the evenings – you couldn’t ask for more.

Step back in time as you settle into one of Swallow’s booths – repurposed from 1920s train seats. This cosy European style bar is as charming as its vintage Parisian decor, with a small- bar-slash-bistro menu that’s absolutely fitting to its setting. Steak frites, a gruyère omelette, their house specialty pissaladière… with each course, you might find yourself speaking more and more French. You’ll be making mid-week dinner plans just for “Le Hump Day” – their Wednesday night specials that make the work week so much more bearable.

Henry on Eighth

If you’re at Swallow on a Wednesday night, you’ll have Sunday free to head to Henry on Eighth. Or Monday… or Thursday. Can you tell I love a special? So does Henry on Eighth. This neighbourhood bar plays host to an impressive assortment of kitchen specials, as well as a crowd-pleasing array of regular burgers, share plates and bar snacks. Pair this with their live art and music, and you have no excuse not to get there ASAP.

Mrs S

Super-sweet cafe Mrs S is the perfect lunch spot – sweet tooth or not. Their baked goods are a huge drawcard, with a huge assortment of treats baked daily. But if you’re looking for something more substantial, the Manwich has been feeding happy customers since they opened in 2010.

The Woodfired Baker

These artisan bakers are specialists in all things sourdough and woodfired – as well as some killer pastries and sweets. Baking from a restored century-old oven, their offerings change daily, but whatever you take home will put a smile on your face. Sourdough’s good for us, right?

Smoults Larder

Up your cheese board game with a trip to Smoults, where you can stock up on an amazing selection of cheese, charcuterie and artisan pantry items (think olive oil, marinades, sauces and more). Definitely make sure to go on an empty stomach, so you can take advantage of their ready to go lunches – not to mention their selection of sweets.

Or perhaps you’re already deep in the midst of wedding season – to be honest, I’m dreading to think what I’ll have left to wear by the end of summer. Or at least I would be, if it weren’t for Lula and Sasha. From party frocks to casual tops, plus accessories, and gifts, these guys will have you kitted out in some beaut looks that won’t break the bank.
