The Rechabite Is Opening A Brand New Beer Garden For Summer – Birdbath!

As if The Rechabite didn’t already offer enough to Northbridge’s entertainment precinct, what with its underground Goodwill club, delicious Double Rainbow eatery and fresh air-filled Rooftop Bar.

This summer they’re set to welcome a brand new space to play – Birdbath – a backyard beer garden situated on the south west concourse of the State Library!

Chirping up next Thursday 22 December and running all the way through til April next year, it’s the brainchild of The Rechabite owner and former FRINGE WORLD CEO, Marcus Canning AM.

“In dreaming up Birdbath I threw my mind back to a pre-covid time, when the Summer festivals were bustling and energy was high. That’s the kind of vibe we’re aiming to bring back to The Cultural Centre,” he says.

“I’ve also been inspired by a range of extraordinary international festival clubs that I’ve had the good fortune of experiencing over the years in places near and far-flung; the design of Birdbath is inspired by the golden nostalgia of the suburban dreams of a more relaxed and laid-back time.”

Aiming to add a little extra flavour to the Perth Cultural Centre, punters can fly in for a curated food and drinks program, an eclectic mix of entertainment, art installations and one-off events.

The Rechabite has enlisted local artist and creative producer Mel Naumoff to develop the program over a bustling five month period, which will include local and touring artists, harpists and cabaret artistes, roller disco, acrobatics, long table dining experiences under the stars, a lamington bake off and its first major event on New Year’s Eve – Birdbaths, Bubbles & Bumps… Of Caviar.

Food and bev wise popular down south brewery Rocky Ridge Brewing Co. are heading up to the big smoke to take control of the brews, there’ll be an exciting cocktail program including twists on a variety of backyard classics and some special canned cocktails, while Double Rainbow’s Head Chef Navarre Top will take your taste buds into overdrive.
