Cop A Stellar Sando At This New East Perth Deli

If you say “sandwiches”, you can consider our interest piqued – but photos like this? We’re on full alert!

These perfectly-golden, crusty boys and perfectly rosetta-d flat whites are courtesy of Wellington Deli – East Perth’s newest addition.

We’re guilty of hearing “deli” and thinking of some pretty dusty neighbourhood joints of our childhood, but this slick new spot couldn’t be further from that musty memory.

Spaciously minimalist, instead of a warren of shelves, you’ll find a bright, open-plan cafe. Concrete steps form extra seating facing the white-tiled counter where you’ll get those delicious aforementioned sandwiches.

Tuna melts, Reubens and chilli salami options are all on offer – plus some pretty tempting pesto-filled focaccias. Suppliers include cult-favourite Willagee-based baker Everyday Bread – you’ll see their picture-perfect pumpkin loaf paired with mushrooms for the aptly-named “Fun Guy” sandwich.

You’ll also see classic cheese and ham, cheese and tomato toasties on offer – check out that practically pornographic, gooey cheese pull! Sweets like brownies and friands make the perfect on-the-go treats.

Open Wednesday through to Sunday, pop in for a morning coffee, midweek lunch break or a weekend hangover-busting sanga.
