The Best Places To Eat Around Joondalup
We admit, we can be guilty of focusing on our go-to, super central foodie hotspots… But a quick jaunt further north will hold plenty of delicious delights, too. Here are just a few of our favourite spots to grab a bite in Joondalup:
Hikky’s Babylon Café and Grill
Sure, everyone loves a kebab, but Hikky’s have reached legendary status. Home made lavash bread and sauces take these to another level, but the rest of the menu is also worth its own visit – from the maqluba, to the shish platters, to the Babylon, or the fresh homemade pastries. But then again… that HSP looks pretty damn appetising, too.

Uptown Pizza
For a taste of the five boroughs right here in Perth, you have to visit Joondalup’s Uptown. Grab a slice to go or dig in to a whole pie – which happily tread the line between traditional and crowd-pleasing toppings. We’re a little bit obsessed with the Frank Pinello-inspired White House option: slow cooked caramelised onions, parsley, pecorino, fresh mozzarella and ricotta, plus that crunchy sesame seed crust.

Scents of Siam
Suburban takeaways get a bad rap, but Scents of Siam is proof that your local can hold its own against the big hitters. Traditional Thai with a modern twist, you can expect bold flavours, fresh produce and beautiful presentation. If you’re really lucky, you’ll be able to score a jar of their tamarind dipping sauce or chilli jam to take home.

OEC SUSHI
We’re going to have to preemptively apologise to Joondalup locals: the secret is out. OEC is the cafe you wish you had at the end of your street – although you might have to buy a bigger pair of pants. This Japanese-Korean cafe might not be for authenticity sticklers and sushi purists, but boy oh boy does it make up for it in both cuteness and flavour. If you can make it past the katsu sandwich, or the soufflé pancakes, you’ll find yourself face-to-face with the sushi burgers. Once you see it, you’ll understand why sometimes, authenticity is overrated.

Moments Cafe
Moments Cafe implores you to, well, take a moment – and we can guarantee you’ll need to take at least a second or two to appreciate their signature, oh-so-cute latte art. The warm and welcoming cafe has more than the latte art on offer, though, with some brunches that will start off your day on a high note.

Stay Grounded
If you’re in need of a pick-me-up while you’re in Joondy, you’ll have to stop by Stay Grounded. The coffee aficionados roast beans for both cafés and home connoisseurs, but you can also swing past and grab a cup to go. If you’re a budding barista, make sure to pick their brains for expert advice while you’re there!

2 Beans
Perched on Davidson Terrace, the innocuous 2 Beans is one of Joondalup’s hidden gems. Not only some of the best coffee in the area, but some Vietnamese food that’ll knock your socks off: classic BMTs, refreshing chicken and vermicelli salads, and pho that’ll go down a treat.

Le Papillon
After spending 13 years on Bulwer Street with its signature blue awning, 2018 saw the relocation of Le Papillon to Joondalup. They haven’t slowed down since the move, going from strength to strength with their homemade French treats.
