Part croissant, part cookie, the “crookie” has been taking the internet by storm. Following its boom on social media, this little hybrid pastry has had a big impact, making appearances in cafes and bakeries around the world — including in Perth!

Eager to try this treat yourself? Here’s where to find it!

Cafe Nari

One of the newest additions to Leederville’s food and drink scene, Cafe Nari is a charming, family-owned business serving up some of the city’s most unique baked goods. From matcha croissants to pork belly banh mi croissants, its menu items are anything but ordinary.

Despite initially only offering the ‘crookie’ for the month of April, it’s been brought back due to popular demand. Head on over and snag yours while supplies last.

Gather Bakehouse

With a mouth-watering selection of NYC-style cookies, brownies, and made-to-order cakes, Gather Bakehouse is no stranger to delicious desserts. So, it’s no surprise that they’ve added the ‘crookie’ to their rotation. Prepped daily, the croissants are stuffed and topped with chocolate chip cookie dough before being baked to chewy, gooey perfection.

Need a little something savoury to balance out the sweetness? Gather’s got you covered. They also serve a range of tasty lunch options like bagels, sandwiches, and more.

La Bomb Cookes & Gelato

Known as the ‘croissough’ on La Bomb’s menu, this pastry is the perfect balance of flaky and creamy. With three variations available — traditional chocolate chip, Nutella, and Biscoff — there’s something to suit every craving.

The ‘croissough’ is just one of La Bomb’s many decadent offerings. While you’re there, be sure to sample some of their other goodies, including brownies, cookie dough trays, and cookie pies and cakes.

La Bomb’s treats are available for in-store pickup or delivery to select Perth suburbs.

Timber Cafe

Harrisdale’s local, Timber Cafe is one of the latest venues to jump on the ‘crookie’ bandwagon. These fluffy croissants aren’t just stuffed and topped with chocolate chip cookie dough — they’re covered in a chocolate drizzle, bringing the sweetness to a whole new level.

While you’re there, why not indulge in some of TImber’s other new menu items? A new avo smash, vanilla french toast, a pina colada pudding — the possibilities (and deliciousness) are endless.

Zonts Bakehouse, Northbridge

Zonts Bakehouse first launched its take on the ‘crookie’ as a limited edition special for the Easter long weekend. But the pastry was so popular that it’s been added to the menu indefinitely.

The ‘crookie’ is available in-store every day until sold out (and spoiler alert: they tend to go quickly!). Fortunately, you can secure yours ahead of time by ordering via the bakery’s website. Orders must be placed before 11:59am for next-day pickup.
