If ever there was a time to celebrate mindfulness, meditation and multiculturalism now would be it, and you can do exactly that when Buddha’s Birthday & Multicultural Festival takes over the Supreme Court Gardens this April.
Spreading the message of “Connecting Hearts”, it’ll be two days of food, entertainment and activities in one of Perth’s most beautiful venues.
On Saturday 17 and Sunday 18 April, expect ceremonies and rituals, cultural displays, loads of delicious vegetarian food and multicultural entertainment from all walks of life.
The event is free, but will also contain a few smaller internal events to grab tickets to, including a Tea Meditation (Saturday, 4.30-5.30pm), Mass Tai Chi & Meditation (Sunday, 9-10am) and a Baby Blessing & Baby Shower (Sunday 10.45-11.45am).
Outside of these mini events, across the two days at the main event attendees can expect things like the Bathing of the Buddha, Buddha’s Birthday Education Project, Multi-faith Blessing Ceremony, Chinese Calligraphy, Dharma talk sessions, Children’s DIY Art & Craft, Be Kind Be Vego, Chinese Lion & Dragon Dance, Sustainability and Environmental Workshops, Multicultural Vegetarian Food Fair and much more.
Organised by the Fo Guang Shan Buddhist Temple of WA, Buddha’s Light International Association of WA and Nan Tien Institute, you can get all the info you need via the festival’s WEBSITE.
