After a successful launch as part of Strange Festival last year, Exhumed Cinema will return this winter to revive another abandoned Perth theatre.

Settling into the bones of the Como Theatre (the old Cygnet) on Preston Street in Como, this year’s 20-day program is another fun dive into cult and classic films, all projected on 35mm or 16mm film!

Running from June 14 until July 3, the ticketed pop-up revival cinema will have multiple screenings on some days, catering to audiences both young and old.

Exhumed launches with a Machete / Fight Club double feature, and from there you’ll find something for everyone, including the likes of The Goonies, Batman, Spiderman, Doctor StrangeLove, Jumanji, Run Lola Run, Children of Men, Poor Things and loads more.

The Cygnet is one of Perth’s beautiful art deco theatres, and was Perth’s first purpose-built sound cinema.

Strange Festival runs from June 14-23 activating unused spaces around Perth – check out the full program here, and buy tickets to Exhumed Cinema here.
