Established in 2019, Barn Dance Perth has very quickly become a beloved annual event in Perth, bringing hundreds together for a night of costumes, camaraderie, country dance music and more, all in celebration and support of Perth’s LGBTQIA+ community.

And this year’s they’ll be hootenannying down to Perth City Farm on Saturday 31 August.

And this year they’re really levelling up, with the addition of iconic Aussie outfit The Mucky Duck Bush Band on headline duties alongside BarbieQ and DJ H.Sailor, plus dancers, artist showcases and loads more.

Since Barn Dance Perth’s inception, the event has raised over $35,000 for a range of programs including mental health and loneliness within vulnerable populations, with funds distributed to the likes of Pride WA, Pinnacle Foundation, WAAC, and GLBTI Rights in Ageing.

This year Barn Dance is promoting the Rainbow Refugee project – a grass roots Perth group working together to support a LGBTQIA ‘forcibly displaced person’ to migrate and settle in Perth.
