After months of live-streaming music events from our homes the shackles are well and truly off, and Castaway have linked up with VenuesWest for a post-restrictions concert to remember.

With the Phase 5 easing of WA’s coronavirus restrictions commencing on July 18, Castaway are wasting no time, putting on a massive all-local lineup featuring ShockOne with Reija Lee, Crooked Colours, Slumberjack and Tina Says.

All four are not only the State’s, but some of the country’s most exciting established and emerging acts, and you’ll be able to see – and dance to – them in the flesh at HBF Stadium in Mt Claremont.

We’re pretty blessed in WA to count these acts as our own, with SHOCKONE being one of the world’s most celebrated acts within the bass music scene, having toured the globe extensively over the past decade.

Likewise Slumberjack and Crooked Colours have become globally-recognised forces in electronic music, playing festivals here and abroad like Splendour In The Grass, Groovin The Moo and Falls Festival, along with Lollapalooza and Bonnaroo Music & Arts Festival in the US.

Rounding out the lineup is Tina Says, a rapidly rising young producer from Perth who has played shows all over the country, with her two most recent singles copping plenty of support from triple j.

VenuesWest COO Peter Beauchop is understandably pretty excited, saying “It’s so exciting to see the live entertainment industry get back on its feet so quickly with this amazing event.

“I acknowledge the assistance provided by Zaccaria Concerts and Touring, who together with VenuesWest recognise the importance of supporting local music and the event industry.

“This is just the first of many concerts that will be held at a VenuesWest venue in support of music in WA, giving the local economy a much-needed boost.”

Given we’re in Phase 4 until July 18, you’ve got a bit of time to get match fit over the coming weeks, before Castaway Unlocked hits HBF Stadium from 7pm, Saturday 18 July.

Tickets go on sale tomorrow at 10am via Ticketmaster!
