The show must go on, as they say, and over two special nights next February West Australian Opera will be hosting a free, two-night gala concert to celebrate the 30th Opera in the Park.

A combined effort between WA Opera principal artists, the Opera Chorus and the WA Symphony Orchestra, it will be a feature event on the 2021 Perth Festival calendar.

Set within the beautiful surrounds of Supreme Court Gardens, event-goers will get to experience a host of audience favourites from the world of opera and musical theatre, proudly performed by some of WA’s premier artists.

WAO Executive Director Carolyn Chard said, “Producing an event on this scale takes a monumental effort; and we have been fortunate that our partnerships with the City of Perth and Lotterywest, has enabled Opera in the Park to become a flagship event on the state’s summer calendar.

“After COVID19 disrupted live performance we are proud to be able to reconnect with the people of Western Australia with a new COVID safe format for Opera in the Park.”

In addition to the two shows on February 26 and 27, regional viewers and those that cannot make the event will also be able to livestream.

Even better, the annual summer event is once again FREE, only requiring a registration to be made via the West Australian  Opera WEBSITE, Perth Festival WEBSITE or in person at the Perth Theatre Trust Box Offices.

Over the years Opera in the Park has become an essential and iconic event on the Perth theatre calendar – the thrilling operatic singing and dramatic ensembles under the WA stars on a balmy Perth evening not to be missed.
