With cost of living at the front of just about everyone’s mind of late, today the WA Government has announced some welcome financial relief for fans of the Perth Royal Show.

Ticket prices for this year’s event, taking place at Claremont Showground from September 21-28, have been slashed across the board, including becoming free for all kids 15 and under.

“It’s not everyday you meet hundreds of horses, skilled sheep dogs or cute baby animals. Eat 3 desserts in 3 hours. Laugh until it hurts or scream yourself stupid. It’s not every day you connect with people that put food on your plate, marvel at massive cattle or gasp at weird looking goats,” it begins on the Royal Show website.

“It’s not every day you get to see world-class fireworks and a 3D drone show, rock-out to awesome bands and hang out with your favourite people…

“And, thanks to the support of the State Government, it’s not every day that adults can attend ½ price and children 15 and under attend FREE.”

It’s the first time in over 10 years that children over the age of four will get free tickets, with the last free ticket program being for kids under 12 from 2011-2014.

Adult and concession ticket prices will also be halved to $22 and $12.50 respectively, and the free ticket deal is valid for up to four children per adult ticket purchased.

“The Perth Royal Show is a great day out, where visitors young and old can learn more about the agricultural industries which put food on our plates and clothes on our backs,” WA Premier Roger Cook told The West.

“We know many families are feeling the pressure of rising cost of living, so this year, tickets for the kids are on us.”

Tickets are now available to purchase via perthroyalshow.com.au.
