Who knew that in the year 2020 cinemas would basically be cancelled for a few months, and we’d realise that outdoor cinemas would be the a safer way to watch movies!?

And while you still can go to normal cinemas, we’ve been eagerly anticipating the return of Rooftop Movies, who’ve just announced their first program for the upcoming summer.

Firing back up from October 31, you’ll once again have the opportunity to explore one of this city’s most photogenic venues, right in the middle of Northbridge above the City Of Perth Roe Street Carpark.

And if you’ve been before you’ll know it’s pretty special laying back on a beanbag and watching movies on the big screen, with panoramic views of the big smoke surrounding you.

Not to mention the food and drinks options, as Mack Daddy’s New York Slice returns with their mouth-watering pizzas, and beverage needs sorted thanks to Gage Roads Brewing Co. and Mad Fish wines.

This year you can also book Premium Lounge tickets, with cosy double bean bags in a reserved area, and there’ll be a new deckchair-style seating option if bean bags ain’t your thing.

‘But what about the program?’ we hear you ask.

As we’ve come to expect, it’s an exciting blend of old favourites with new releases, kicking off with Hocus Pocus for Halloween on October 31.

From you can expect the likes of Edward Scissorhands, Stand By Me, Xanadu, The Princess Bride and The Nightmare Before Christmas, alongside brand new films such as An American Pickle, Bill & Ted Face The Music and the West Aussie-filmed drama, Dirt Music.
