Since launching a couple of years ago the Scarborough Sunset Markets have quickly become the place to be on Thursday nights. Their 2018/2019 season saw thousands of locals and visitors alike descending onto freshly redeveloped Scarborough Beach strip, and the upcoming season looks to be no different.

Now with the redevelopment fully completed, the markets return to Thursday nights from 5pm-9pm, covering the stretch from Scarborough Square all the way down to the Amphitheatre beach. It runs from this Thursday 7 November all the way through to April 30, 2020.

Along with sunsets, seabreezes and the sand between your toes, the list of what to expect is enormous, with over 100 food and retail stalls, live music, kids activities, beach bar, sports and of course, the Scarborough Sunset Applause.

In addition, with the event’s expansion over the years, this season they’re turning their attention towards waste management, with a strong war on waste message for the punters. You’ll be able to bring your own plates and cutlery to enjoy the various delicacies on offer, or you can buy a market eats kit at a subsidised rate. There’ll also be dedicated waste stations around the site, with OzHarvest WA volunteers making sure it’s all disposed of correctly.

Some of the food highlights include:

BBQ meats

Italian street food

Dumplings

Authentic Lebanese

Pincho’s paella

Greek donuts

Brazillian bites

Toasted Curries

Latina’s 100% plant-based Latin-American street food

Vegan donuts, hotdogs and burgers

Gluten free crepes

And there’ll even be a gourmet dog treat truck!
