The day’s (and nights) are heating up and you know what that means – the return of what we can pretty safely now call a Perth institution – the Scarborough Sunset Markets!
WA’s biggest beachside dinner spot will be taking up residence once again along the sizzling Scarbs Esplanade every Thursday from November 5 until April 29 next year.
It’ll to once again be a feast for the senses with foodies galore, along with a few new surprises.
With COVID restrictions continuing to ease in WA and all health precautions in place, it’s shaping up to be a succulent summer indeed.
Read on for a little rundown of what we can expect:
Foodies & Artisan Retailers
Roll up to indulge yourself with over 100 food trucks and retailers taking up residence every Thursday, featuring options aplenty.
Think slow BBQ meats, rich curries, Italian meatballs, Asian dumplings, local and line-caught ceviche, gourmet hotdogs, authentic Lebanese, tasty Thai, Malaysian satay, Brazilian bites, Spanish paella and loads more.
There’ll also be a host of delectable dessert offerings, along with a huge array of vegan, vego and gluten free options.
The retail zone will be home to things like landscape photography, traditional Aboriginal art, vintage clothing, jewellery, flowers, plants and then some.
Resident DJ Shann will be bringing the vibes, along with a few friends to liven things up, including sax players, bongo drummers and more, and he’ll be joined by DJ Flex on the Carribbean Clock Tower Stage.
Gone are the days of just being able to bring your puppy pal along to events, this year’s markets will have a special area devoted to man’s best friend.
We’re talking beds to rest on, water bowls, gourmet treats and apparel creations from Rolas Pet Boutique!
A brand new addition this year, private dining comes to the markets with a great little offering: For just $55 per person you get parking at the Rendezvous Hotel, a long table dining area with premium seating, cushions and candles, a private bar and a massive selection of ‘the best of the markets’ snacks, mains and desserts.
The markets take waste very seriously, and the Waste Warriors will be out in force with sustainability partner Oz Harvest to make sure all the rubbish is sorted as best as possible; cups are washed/re-rused, re-usable eat kits are sold and more, along with punters being encouraged to bring your own eat kits (cutlery etc.)
Markets Bar presented by Indian Ocean Hotel*
The Indian Ocean Hotel will be making sure you celebrate the sunset with a drink in hand thanks to a special bar overlooking the ocean and markets.
The bar will be stocked with local favourite brews and wines, along with a special mixologist for something a little fruitier.

Games & Entertainment
There’ll be plenty to keep you busy on the entertainment front, with beach jenga, volleyball, soccer and dodgeball rotating through each week, along with gian kites, giant wooden games and Samba drumming/dance lessons from the Brazilian Beach Carnival crew.
Xmas Eve & New Year’s
For the first time ever, the markets will be running on both Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve, making for a wonderful proposition on both nights to spend it with loved ones on the sand.
Last but not least, the market favourite Sunset Applause will return to re-affirm that much-needed community spirit after such a tumultuous year.
