Following successful events over the past couple of years the luminescent ARTTRA Light Festival will be once again transforming Claremont Park into an interactive outdoor gallery later this month.

Running from 5pm-9pm on March 27-March 29, 11 illuminating light-based installations have been hand-picked to mark a spectacular trail through the park on the corner of Bay View Terrace and Stirling Hwy.

Designed by both established and emerging Western Australian artists, the installations will be competing for the $5000 ARTTRA Prize.

It’s a free event for the community, and people are encouraged to come down to enjoy a host of activities to go with the gallery, including food stalls, silent disco, glow-in-the-dark face painting and a light painting photo booth.

The festival also happens to fall on the same weekend as Earth Hour (Saturday 28 March), and will be marking the occasion with all non-essential generator-powered lights giving way to a fire show.
