There’s no better way to support local than going straight to the source. This festive season we’ll be hitting up plenty of markets and buying our gifts from local makers and artisans.

Fremantle Arts Centre Bazaar

Friday 4th December – Sunday 6th December

The Fremantle Arts Centre’s annual Bazaar really sets the bar high for what you can come to expect from a market. Perth’s premium makers come out in full force, with bespoke homewares, jewellery, clothing, and heaps more – all in the picturesque surrounds of the Freo Arts Centre grounds. We’re particularly excited to stop by Bed Tonic for some fresh bed linens for the new year, Nagtzaam Timber for minimalist timber kitchenware, Kristen Magrit for locally and ethically made fashion, ka:ke to check out their beautiful sculptural art pieces, and Kin Swim for some (overdue) new swimwear for the summer.

Perth Upmarket

Sunday 29th November

Market-goers of Perth will likely need no introduction to the Upmarket – the quarterly market, located within picturesque UWA, is a behemoth in both size and reputation. With over 180 stalls featuring an amazing selection of WA creatives – from independent artists, jewellers, fashion, gifts, skincare, homewares… I mean, with so many stalls, you can probably knock out your entire Christmas list in one day!

Conscious Christmas Market

Tuesday 8th December

If you hadn’t already noticed, we’re all about championing ethical, sustainable and local – so the Conscious Christmas Markets are a must-visit for us this festive season. Cruise on downtown the historic Moores Building in Freo and check out the local goods on offer – like natural hand care by Happy Bee Botanicals, hand crocheted toys by Anna Hadwin, or mindful kids ware by Ark + Luna.

Made on the Left

Saturday 5th December – Sunday 6th December
Sunday 13th December

Made on the Left is all about celebrating the countless reasons why the West Coast really is the Best Coast – not least in part due to our bounty of local creatives. Founded in 2008 by a group of five independent designers, the market has grown to epic proportions and features everything from hand-painted upcycled denim, to hand made resin jewellery, to vegan friendly shower scrubs – and everything you could imagine in between. As well as the 5th and 6th of December for their Christmas market at Freo’s Esplanade Park, make sure to put the 13th of December in your diary for the extra-festive Carols by Candlelight edition.

Perth Maker’s Market

Saturday 5th December

Another must-visit in the market calendar has got to be the Perth Maker’s Market. It has regular instalments at its Heathcote base, but the festive season sees a special edition market at Yagan Square on December 5th. Over 70 stakeholders will be at the market, with an emphasis on art and jewellery creators – plus plenty of other goodies to eat, drink and buy, of course!

Roxy Lane

Sunday 6th December

Sunday December 6th sees Maylands’ Roxy Lane come alive. This community-run market will bring together local businesses, as well as bringing in stall holders with artwork, skincare, fashion, homewares and tasty treats on offer.

Perth Hills Artisan Markets

Sunday 20th December

Perth Hills Artisan Markets is the perfect introduction to all the delights on offer in the Hills and their beautiful surrounds. The markets take place every other month, but December 20th sees its jam-packed Christmas incarnation, with local artisans making everything from homemade chutneys to handcrafted kids toys – the perfect opportunity to grab all those last minute Christmas gifts you nearly forgot about
