The Cunard British Film Festival returns to Perth 19 October – 16 November presenting the best of contemporary and classic British cinema with 40 films screening at Palace Cinemas Raine Square, Luna Leederville, Luna on SX and Windsor Cinema. The formidable line-up of films celebrates the talents of Britain’s finest filmmakers and actors including Stephen Frears, Sally Hawkins, Emma Thompson, Bill Nighy and more.

Marking its tenth anniversary this year, the Festival delivers a number of exclusive premieres of highly anticipated films in addition to a fabulous selection of dramas, documentaries and comedies, the majority of which are screening for the first time in Australia. Opening the festival nationally on 19 October is the premiere of MRS. HARRIS GOES TO PARIS, a whimsical tale based on the popular novel.

Other programme stand-outs include THE BANSHEES OF INISHERIN,  twisted tale of friendship gone awry from the makers of In Bruges starring Colin Firth and Brendan Gleeson; and EMPIRE OF LIGHT, a love letter to cinema from director Sam Mendes.

Closing the Festival is the premiere of WHAT’S LOVE GOT TO DO WITH IT? starring Lily James and Emma Thompson – a cross cultural romantic comedy following a filmmaker who decides to document her best friend’s journy toward arranged marriage.

James Bond is back on the big screen in a curated line up showcasing sixty years of iconic style and adventure as the Festival presents an unmissable retrospective of films screening in 4K Digital.
