Sashi Perera left Perth as an idealistic refugee lawyer certain she could single-handedly fix the entire world. Ten years later, she returns as a stand-up comic to comb through the rubble of her previous life. Sashi was raised in Perth via Sri Lanka, Dubai and Muscat. She worked around the world as a refugee lawyer then moved to Melbourne and started stand up comedy. In this show Sashi shares the stories of almost everything that happened in between. In 2021, she was the only Australian comedian featured on the UK Funny Women Awards ‘Ones to Watch’ list and opened for Anne Edmonds and Nazeem Hussain. She’s hot off her first split-show Good Ghouls at the 2022 Melbourne International Comedy Festival and is a former cast member of hit show ‘The Breast of the Fest’.

Almost Everything is her first show in Perth – she can’t wait to finally perform in the city where she stacked up all her HECS debt – are the peacocks still at UWA? ‘For this reviewer, it was Sashi Perera’s quick wit that stole the show’ – Melbourne Observer
‘Tells tales from across the globe that you won’t hear from anyone else’ – Funny Tonne
‘For those of us with a fascination for international absurdities, Sashi is a spectacular comic… an incredible bundle of laughs from start to finish’ – Theatre Thoughts
