Last week saw the opening of an incredible-looking (and feeling, sounding, smelling, tasting) exhibition called SensAtion Gallery on the Queens Riverside Precinct in East Perth.

Running until December 23, it’s been developed by the team at MSWA to highlight the myriad affects neurological conditions can have on the senses that most of us take for granted.

It’s the first event of its kind in WA, and will showcase the work of emerging and established young Western Australian artists. They’ll be exploring how the senses interact with the brain across a variety of immersive and interactive exhibits.

One of the artists is Indigenous illustrator and WA Young Person Of The Year, Kambarni (Kam), exhibiting his piece, ‘MSunderstood’, who had this to say: “Each exhibition encourages the audience to consider the impact of sensory loss or heightening while providing amazing visual opportunities – you can gram with a purpose.”

In addition to Kam, there’s also works from Jordan Bruno (My Kitchen Rules), YouTube stars Kim Behetsis and Ana Cadence, Zak Hasleby and Jamey-Lee Franz.

MSWA are encouraging the whole family to come down, and also to make sure you document the incredible visuals on display via Instagram with the hashtags #MSWAEvents and #SensAtionGallery.

In addition, there’ll be a few different Gourmet Escape Fringe events, including ‘Graze & Daze’ with the renowned Faith Nichols, of Comestibles.
