Celebrate Yellagonga Day
Join the City of Joondalup at this year’s Joondalup Festival! With events taking place at various locations across the City of Joondalup!
Gather near the lake that glistens for a day of discovery and connection. Celebrate Yellagonga Day is a fun day out for people of all walks of life to come together in Yellagonga Regional Park and learn more about the rich history of where we live. There will be music and live performances, fascinating talks and walking tours, kids’ entertainment, arts and crafts, free and ticketed workshops and heaps more – a day of fun for the entire family!
Yellagonga Regional Park is named after the prominent Whadjuk Noongar leader, whose family cared for the land from Derbarl Yerrigan (the Swan River) all the way along the coast to Moore River and Ellenbrook. Aboriginal people have nurtured the land throughout Joondalup and surrounds for thousands of years, sharing knowledge from generation to generation.
Celebrate Yellagonga Day is a chance to join together on country, celebrate cultural diversity and continue the tradition of knowledge-sharing by learning more about the land we live on and making connections with those around us.
