Dawn French Is A Huge Twat

Dawn French, the Queen of British comedy, returns to the stage with her one-woman stand-up show “Dawn French is a Huge Twat” playing at the Riverside Theatre in April 2024.

Dawn French is a much-loved figure in Australia, having toured most recently in 2016 with her first solo stand-up show Thirty Million Minutes – performing a magnificent 38 shows across the country, due to overwhelming demand!

Few people are as firmly ensconced in the British comedy firmament as Dawn French. As one half of the ground-breaking comedy duo French & Saunders (with Jennifer Saunders) she blazed a trail that shaped TV comedy through the 80s and 90s, spoofing everyone from Oasis to The Corrs and brilliantly sending up films such as Titanic and The Lord Of The Rings series.

“This show is so named because unfortunately, it’s horribly accurate,” French said, “There have been far too many times I have made stupid mistakes or misunderstood something vital or jumped the gun in a spectacular display of twattery. I thought I might tell some of these buttock clenching embarrassing stories to give Australian audiences a peek behind the scenes of my work life…Roll up!
