<p><span style="font-family: georgia, times, times new roman, serif;">In collaboration with German Films, Palace presents the 2023 GERMAN FILM FESTIVAL </span><span style="font-family: georgia, times, times new roman, serif;">with a stunning film lineup including key selections direct from the 2023 Berlin International Film Festival (The Berlinale), a music-themed retrospective, a focus on female filmmakers and the popular family sidebar Kino for Kids. </span><span style="font-family: georgia, times, times new roman, serif;">The Festival opens with A THOUSAND LINES; an exciting drama based on true events staring Elyas M&#8217;Barek and Jonas Nay as journalists and is based on the real-life 2018 fake news scandal involving a disgraced Der Spiegel journalist.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-family: georgia, times, times new roman, serif;">The Festival centrepiece, direct from its Berlinale world premiere, is THE TEACHERS&#8217; LOUNGE starring EU rising star Leonie Benesch. This tense drama centres on a dedicated, idealistic teacher who is pushed to the brink when she investigates a series of thefts at her new school. </span><span style="font-family: georgia, times, times new roman, serif;">Two Special Presentations within the Festival programme include SISI &amp; I; the wild interpretation of the &#8220;Sisi&#8221; myth set in the 19th Century and INGEBORG BACHMANN &#8211; JOURNEY INTO THE DESERT; a drama that shines a light on the remarkable and charismatic Austrian writer. </span></p>
