“Though we shouldn’t be forced to take such measures, in the face of violence against women, we find strength and empowerment where it is being taken.”

This event is a safe and supportive space for women to educate themselves, connect with one another, and engage in challenging discussions that promote awareness and drive change. The day will consist of a 90minute self-defence workshop with Damian Porter, working in pairs he will be teaching essential safety techniques by re-enacting common scenarios faced by women on a daily basis. After this, there will be a lunch break with refreshments and sweet treats! Following on, we’ll hear from inspiring female guest speakers who will discuss topics about mental health and domestic violence. To conclude, Tara Shamprasadh will be running a yoga and meditation session providing an opportunity to feel grounded & reconnect. There will also be curated gift bags from 10+ local businesses in the hospitality, fitness, creative and fashion industries to take home.

What to bring: Please wear activewear or anything comfortable, a water bottle, yoga mat, sunscreen, enclosed shoes, handbags or pockets are encouraged, and most importantly, your beautiful self!

I encourage you to share this experience with your Best Friends, Mums, Sisters, Aunties, Daughters, Cousins, and Colleagues along! If you’re a man wanting to support this cause, consider purchasing a ticket for the women you care about.
