Melville Midwinter
With the magical Dyoondalup Point Walter as the background and the crackle of the fire set to light up the winter night, the City of Melville is excited to announce the return of Melville Midwinter. Now in its fourth year, this free event encourages friends and family to enjoy an evening of art and renewal on Saturday, 22 June 2024.
A beloved tradition that showcases local talent, the evening will be filled with song, dance, theatre and spoken word performance, with enchanting moments to savour at every turn. Guests are encouraged to pause, stop and reflect as the winter solstice provides the opportunity to release the past and reset for the year ahead.
The evening’s events will culminate with an invitation for audience members to take a plunge into the icy waters of the Swan River. Participants will make the awakening swim from the jetty to shore, symbolising a release of the past and new beginnings.
Indulge in a buffet feast by Nimrod Kazoom, roast marshmallows by the warm fire and settle alongside the hillside to enjoy a sensational line-up of artists light up the shortest night of the year at Melville Midwinter.
