Take the time to learn about the cultural significance of this island to the Whadjuk Noongar people. Experience NAIDOC Week on Rottnest from 4 to 12 November with free, family friendly events on the island. The theme for the week is ‘GET UP! STAND UP! SHOW UP! The theme encourages all of us to champion institutional, structural, collaborative change wile celebrating those who have already driven and led change in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Communities.

Wadjemup  / Rottnest Island will have a series of free workshops and events taking place throughout the week, including a welcome to country, bush tucker tastings, bush pharmacy, arts and crafts, and acoustic music performances from Aboriginal artists.

All events are free and family friendly.

NAIDOC Week celebrations are held across Australia each year to acknowledge the history, culture and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people. The week is an opportunity for visitors to enjoy activities on the island and support the local Aboriginal and Torres Strait Island community.
