NEW EXHIBITION “RUN SHANNON RUN” BY SHANNON MCCULLOCH
RUN SHANNON RUN presents a new body of paintings, drawings, text and video by Shannon McCulloch.
Shannon McCulloch uses traditional modes of image production to explore the ways images created by camera phones, CCTV footage, and mass media outlets represent and exacerbate contemporary experiences of shame, alienation, dread and desire. Through a methodology of collection, appropriation, and remediation of these images, McCulloch’s work speaks to the phenomenological experience of encountering images on the digital screen and examines how images are used to reinforce dominant cultural narratives and naturalise ideologies.
Opening on Wednesday 3rd April, 6-9pm / Exhibition runs Thursday 4th April – Sunday 14th April
