Shui’s Songkran Seafood Banquet
This April, Thailand’s famous water festival comes to Subi with Shui’s Songkran Seafood Banquet — an exclusive seafood feast in collaboration with WA locals Fins Seafood and Paul Nelson Wines celebrating the biggest event on the Thai calendar.
Songkran is the traditional Thai New Year’s Day festival, symbolic of renewal and rejuvenation. From April 13 to 15 every year, families, friends, neighbours and strangers come together for three consecutive days of food, fun and water fights.
To celebrate, Shui Head Chef Leigh Power has created a one-off seafood set menu designed to be shared between friends and family as they do throughout Thailand during the national holiday. Starting with fresh takes of Thai classics — Hoy Naang Rom Sot (fresh oysters Thai style), Khanom Khaang Khaao (spicy prawn and coconut dumplings) and Yum Som-O (crab and pomelo salad) — guests will then feast on Nam Prik Pao, seafood noodle stir fry of WA rock lobster, Shark Bay prawns and mussels; and Chu Chee Pla, WA snapper in aromatic Thai red curry.
Each dish is expertly paired with drops by Paul Nelson, before finishing with a Thai-inspired sweet treat.
