The Norfolk Hotel presents: Three Chefs Walked Into A Bar dinner
The Norfolk Hotel is thrilled to present ‘Three Chefs Walked Into A Bar’; a rare opportunity to dine at an intimate dinner presented by not one - but three - highly esteemed West Australian chefs!
Jess Widmer, head chef at Glenarty Road Margaret River; Emily Jones, head chef at Republic of Fremantle; and Amy Hamilton, chef/owner at Liberté in Albany will be your guides for the evening.
Food and wine lovers are invited to this Fremantle institution for the delicious, one-off, all-inclusive dinner on Thursday 18 May 2023, showcasing the unique flair of three of WA’s finest chefs on a four-course menu.
The evening will be hosted by Prendiville director of food, chef Russell Blaikie who has pulled together this amazing team of chefs, who will be working with the Norfolk kitchen team. Owner of the Norfolk Hotel and Arlewood Wines, Garry Gosatti, has designed the drinks menu featuring free flowing premium wines from Glenarty Road and Arlewood Wines, and world class spirits from Republic of Fremantle.
Emily Jones, Head Chef at Republic of Fremantle and 2021 WA Good Food Guide Young Chef of the Year, will deliver guests opening snacks, including Quail scotch egg, chicken cream, caviar and bring the evening to a close with a delectable dessert. Emily’s food will be paired with spirits made from scratch, from grape to glass, by master distillers Republic of Fremantle.
Starters will be served by Amy Hamilton, owner/chef at Australian Gourmet Traveller 2019 National Bar of The year, Liberté, Albany. Guests will sample Amy’s kaffir lime cured salmon, duck fat roasted potato, garlic cream, mustard vinaigrette, fried celery leaves, salmon caviar… a dish you normally have to travel to Albany to enjoy!
The main course will be delivered by Jess Widmer, head chef at WA Good Food Guide 2021 Regional Restaurant of the Year Glenarty Road in Margaret River. Fans of Jess’s work will be treated to her signature spin on the ‘farm feast’, which is inspired by her experience with wood-fire grill cooking and combined with her elegant approach to humble ingredients. Succulent Glenarty Road grass-fed lamb rump in farmhouse jus will be served with garden sides including artichoke, horseradish cream and parmesan, and pumpkin, macadamia, harissa and whey soured onions, enjoyed alongside free-flowing wines from Glenarty Road.
