<p>Goolugatup Heathcote’s annual Tilt exhibition returns for another year with multidisciplinary artists Lisa Liebetrau and Shannon Lyons offering a poignant glimpse into the history of the Point Heathcote Mental Reception Home with ‘the beautiful is useful.’</p>
<p>Delving into a rich archive of objects, images and oral histories, Liebetrau and Lyons have worked across painting, sculpture and installation to explore the institutional history and culture of the former mental health institution.</p>
<p>Visitors will take a step back in time as they walk through the display, with Liebetrau and Lyons paying homage to the caregiving environment that existed at the hospital.</p>
<p>‘The beautiful is useful’ will be on display at Goolugatup Heathcote Gallery from Saturday, 4 November 2023 until Sunday, 14 January 2024.</p>
