WA Day Festival
The WA Day long weekend is here and there is a heap of great, free events happening around the State to celebrate, including a huge day of music and family fun at Burswood Park featuring a stacked lined up of WA’s biggest bands; over 60 food trucks; a Gage Roads bar; carnival rides and games for the kids; and the showstopping grand finale – WA’s biggest ever drone light show with 500 drones showcasing iconic stories and images from our great State. Learn more about it, and the other great events happening at locations all over the state here.
On the music front you’ll catch Birds Of Tokyo, Eskimo Joe (pictured below) and Jebediah headlining an all-star local cast also featuring Alter Boy, Banjo Lucia, Darcie Haven, Mari Jo$e, Michael Dunstan, One True North, The Struggling Kings and Supathick. It kicks off from midday until 9.30pm, and if you’re looking for a prime position we suggest getting down early.
The kids can also run wild from midday with free entertainment and attractions, including giant silent disco, roaming entertainers, 16 carnival rides and a community stage plus over 20 activations from Scitech, WA Museum, Lotterywest, HBF and many more. It’ll also be a great opportunity to immerse yourself in indigenous storytelling with Wadjuk Dreaming – four animated short films showing on the big screen at Burswood Park, offering an intimate ‘yarn around the campfire’ while experiencing Dreamtime stories.
